Reasoning with Madness
"This is a barbaric yawp, and it will be sounded over the roofs of the world."
-Walt Whitman
Yesterday the rain started just as the Celebration of Life for Kevin began. The BMW bike shop was packed by family, friends and colleagues who knew the man in some capacity. We heard many incredible stories. I read to the group a piece I wrote for him. Heather Figi played his favorite song Avicii's Wake Me Up on Violin. It was powerful and brought the room to tears. His son Zac made a slide show of his dad set to more of his favorite music. Kevin's dog began to whimper seeing his dad on the screen. We finally saw shots of a young Bentz sans beard! Rick Mozetti put together a motorcycle video of one of Kevin's rides set to Stone Sour's Bother. It was solemn and beautiful. Peaceful and serene seeing Kevin in his element. Thanks to Justin Vaccaro for opening his doors for the Celebration of Life. This quote from Hunter Thompson was not only how he lived but how he went out. Literally. Our shared love of Thompson was discussed in great detail many times over many beers. Fitting tribute yesterday for a great man. RIP Kevlar. I miss you my man.
